Vendors in Nexus are the same vendor records in your Fishbowl database. Any changes users make here are saved directly to Fishbowl.
The Vendors module is where users will add, edit and view their vendor records.
The Vendors module can be found under the “Purchasing” section on the home page or in the sidebar.
When users open the module, they will see a list of their vendors. Users can search for a vendor by name.
Selecting a vendor will open their record. Here users will see the vendor’s address, website, contact information and the parts they supply.
Creating a Vendor #
To add a new vendor, users will select the green Add vendor button at the top right of the vendor list.
This opens the Add vendor form. Enter the vendor’s Name, which is the only required field.
Users can also fill in the vendor’s Account #, Status, Payment terms and Ship terms, and add a Note. New vendors are marked Active by default.
When finished, select Create vendor. The new vendor’s page will open.
From the vendor’s page, users can add the rest of their information using the tabs at the top:
Custom: custom fields, which save automatically.
Account info: website and active status.
Details: payment terms, shipping terms, carrier and minimum order amount.
Address: the vendor’s addresses. Select Save changes when done.
Parts: parts the vendor supplies and vendor cost rules.
Memo: notes about the vendor.
Using the Assistant #
Users can also ask the assistant about their vendors, for example:
- “Who’s the vendor for part B200 and what’s the lead time?”
- “Show me vendor spend for the last 12 months.”
The assistant only shows data the user already has access to in Fishbowl.
