Transfer Orders

1 min read

Transfer orders in Nexus are the same transfer orders in your Fishbowl database. Any changes users make here are saved directly to Fishbowl.

The Transfer Orders module is where users will move stock between warehouses and locations. It can also be used to restock a location that is running low from one that has extra.

The Transfer Orders module can be found under the “Inventory” section on the home page or in the sidebar.

When users open the module, they will see a list of their transfer orders. Users can search by order number or filter by status.

Transfer Order Types #

There are three types of transfer orders.

  • Ship: for moving stock to another warehouse or site. The order goes through picking, packing, shipping and receiving.
  • Move: for moving stock between locations without shipping it. The order only needs to be picked.
  • Putaway: for returning stock to each part’s default location. The order only needs to be picked.

Creating a Transfer Order #

To create a new transfer order, users will select the new transfer order option and choose the type.

Next, choose the location the stock is coming from and the location it is going to.

Users can then add the parts and quantities to transfer.

Once the order is ready, users will issue it. This creates a pick in the Picks module.

Using the Assistant #

Users can also ask the assistant about transfers and stock levels, for example:

  • “Which locations are low on B200, and where is there extra?”
  • “Show me open transfer orders.”
  • “What’s on hand for B200 at each warehouse?”

The assistant only shows data the user already has access to in Fishbowl.
