Services/Fishbowl Consulting
A Fishbowl Partner · Consulting

Fishbowl consulting, from empty database to go-live.

Implementing Fishbowl is not one job — it is a database build, a QuickBooks integration, a data migration and a training programme running at once. The decisions you make setting it up govern how the system behaves for its entire life.

Where implementations go wrong

The choices you make at setup outlive everyone who made them.

Costing method, part numbering, how bills of material are structured — these are decided once, early, usually by whoever is least sure. They are painful to unwind two years later.

01
Setup
Costing method, sites and locations, user roles. We show you the downstream consequence of each decision before it is baked in.
02
Data migration
Pulling items, customers, vendors, price lists and bills of material out of your old system and formatting them to import cleanly. Some data is ready to go; some needs real work.
03
Integrations
QuickBooks first, then everything else — shipping, ecommerce, mobile warehouse and the rest of your stack.
04
Training
Managers and floor staff learn different things. We train both, in their own work environment, on your data.
05
Go-live & support
Someone on hand for the first days in production, then ongoing support for the problems that only surface under real load.
What you get

What Fishbowl consulting covers

Database design & population
Items, customers, vendors, price lists and BOMs defined correctly the first time — the foundation everything else sits on.
QuickBooks integration
Fishbowl takes over sales, purchasing and inventory; QuickBooks becomes the accounting module. We make that handover clean.
Process mapping
We map what actually makes your business different onto the software, instead of forcing you into a default configuration.
On-site training
Trainers on your floor for a set number of days, working with each department on the tasks they will actually do.
Custom reports
When the standard reports do not answer your question, we build the report that does.
Vendor-independent advice
We are not owned by Fishbowl or Intuit. If the honest answer is that a module is not worth buying, that is the answer you get.
Consulting sits alongside Fishbowl training, custom reports and everything else we do with Fishbowl. Not sure which edition you need? See Warehouse vs Manufacturing.

Get the implementation right the first time.

Tell us where you are — evaluating, mid-implementation, or living with a setup that never quite fit. We will tell you honestly what it takes to fix it.
