Manufacture Orders

1 min read

Manufacture orders in Nexus are the same manufacture orders in your Fishbowl database. Any changes users make here are saved directly to Fishbowl.

The Manufacture Orders module is where users will plan production runs. A manufacture order groups together all the work orders and BOMs for one job.

The Manufacture Orders module can be found under the “Manufacturing” section on the home page or in the sidebar.

When users open the module, they will see a list of their manufacture orders. Users can search by order number or filter by status.

Selecting a manufacture order will open it. Here users will see each work order on it, with its status, BOM number and work order number.

Creating a Manufacture Order #

To create a new order, users will select the new manufacture order option. The order will automatically be given the next number.

Next, set the scheduled date and location group for the job.

Users can then add the BOMs needed for the job and the quantity to build. Each one becomes a work order.

Once the order is ready, users will issue it. The work orders are then ready to pick and complete in the Work Orders module.

  • Manufacture orders can also be created automatically from sales orders, or when finished goods run low.
  • If there aren’t enough raw materials to complete an order, Fishbowl will flag the shortage and can create a purchase order for the missing items.

Using the Assistant #

Users can also ask the assistant about production, for example:

  • “Which manufacture orders are scheduled for this week?”
  • “What raw materials are short for MO 2045?”
  • “Draft POs for everything short on open manufacture orders.”
