Picks

2 min read

Picks in Nexus are the same picks in your Fishbowl database. Inventory that is picked here is updated in Fishbowl right away.

The Picks module is where users will go to complete picks for their sales, transfer and work orders. A pick is created when an order is issued.

The Picks module can be found under the “Sales” section on the home page or in the sidebar.

When users navigate to the Picks module, they will see many picks listed.

Users can search for a specific pick or order number. Picks can also be filtered by order type or status.

  • Picks are displayed in different colors based on whether the items are in stock.
  • Green means every item is ready to pick, yellow means at least one item is short, and red means none of the items can be picked yet.

Picking an Order #

Once a pick is selected, the pick screen will open and display the items ready to be picked. Users will see each item, the quantity needed, and which locations have it in stock.

To begin, users will start the pick. This marks the pick as in progress.

To pick the line items, select the location you want to take the inventory out of and then choose the quantity. If the part is tracked, users will also choose the lot or serial number.

Once the items are selected, users will commit them. This sets the inventory aside for this order.

When everything has been pulled, users will finish the pick. The items will move to the Shipments module to be packed.

At this stage, the picking process is complete.

Using the Assistant #

Users can also ask the assistant about picks and stock instead of searching for them, for example:

  • “Which picks are ready to go right now?”
  • “What’s on hand for B200 across all locations?”
  • “Which open orders are short on stock?”

The assistant only shows data the user already has access to in Fishbowl.
